Though low maintenance is require for spv pump, the beneficiary will be given training on technical aspects and maintenance by selected manufacturer.

The spv pump manual in English & local language given to the beneficiary which contains information about solar energy, photovoltaic, modules, DC/AC motor pump set, tracking system, mounting structures, electronics and switches. A warranty card for the modules and the motor pump set should also be provided to the beneficiary.

The following precautions to be taken,

  1. To improve the power factor, use ISI marked shunt capacitor of right capacity with motor, it saves electricity also.
  2. The larger valve helps to save electricity because less power is needed to draw water from the well.
  3. The lesser the no. of bends and fittings in a pipe, the electricity saving is more.
  4. The frictional loss will be more if sharp bends used in pipe line, than in standard bends.
  5. If we keep Pump less than 10 feet height above from water level, it works more efficiently.
  6. By using of good quality PVC suction pipe will save energy and electricity up to 20 %.
  7. Regular preventive maintenance of pump set to be done as recommended by the manufacturer.
  8. Use of ISI marked pumps and accessories was mandatory for more energy efficiency.

Q. What is the procedure for release of subsidy under NABARD scheme?

i.The eligible borrowers shall apply to the bank for sanction of the project. The bank shall appraise the project as per the norms.

ii.If found eligible, sanction the loan excluding the margin subject to technical feasibility and financial viability.

iii.After field visit satisfying the installation of unit, the bank will arrange to make payment directly to the supplier.

iv.After sanction of the loan including subsidy, the bank shall approach NABARD for capital subsidy in the specified format

v.NABARD will release the subsidy subject to the admissibility of the claim.

-In case actual cost is less than the indicative cost of the approved models, the eligible subsidy only 40%   of the actual cost.

However, it depends on depth of water available, type of crop & climatic conditions etc.

a) Through State Nodal Agency:-

i.Contact respective state nodal agency who will visit the site, provide information on cost, size & other details of system required and get it installed at net of government subsidy through some manufacturers.

ii.After granting of permission, the system is installed at respective site location. Once the system installation is completed Nodal agency team visit the site for inspection.

iii. After satisfying the installed system, the government will release the subsidy.

b) Through Accredited channel partners of MNRE:

i.Contact any of them from the List of channel partners and get the system directly installed from him at net of subsidy.

For MNRE scheme -An individual farmers, non-governmental organization, cooperative society, corporate body, institution and govt. Dept. Etc. 

For NABARD scheme-Farmers, individuals, group of individuals, Joint Liability Groups, Self Help Groups will be eligible for subsidy.

However, Public/private ltd companies and corporates are not eligible.

Centrifugal pumps are suitable at shallow depths such as open wells, stream, ponds & canals etc. They are driven by a DC motor. The total head is 14 m and maximum suction head is 7m. Better performance, when the suction head is kept at minimum.

Submersible pumps are recommended at higher depth (>14 m). It is highly efficient and rugged multistage pump. Pumps can be conveniently placed under water so as to lift water from up to 50 m depth.
