  2. Meter testing charges are to be paid by the customer in advance.
  3. If the meter is found to be defective while testing, the amount paid towards testing will be credited back to the customer’s account.

 For Bill payment against LT connections, a request application has to be given to AAO/ERO and an additional charge of 42% per annum on the installment amount (18% additional charges due to belated payment + interest of 24% per annum).

Q. What is the procedure for shifting/installation of poles & lines?

Step 1: A representation has to be given in the section office with a consent letter enclosed for advance payment of shifting charges.

Step 2: Ownership document at new location along with a NOC from panchayat or municipality are to be produced.

    Step 3: Arrears of electricity charges are to be cleared.

    Step 4:  There shall not be any pending appeals / disputes filed by the customer.

Step5: Shifting charges are to be paid which includes cost of actual estimates plus 25% towards supervision charges.

Q. Can I change my LT power connection of single phase to three phase connection?

Yes, you can change the  LT power connection  from  single to 3-phase and vice versa.  A representation has to be given in the section office along with a revised agreement and revised test report has to be signed stating all the additional loads. All the arrears of current consumption charges are to be cleared.

The procedure for Change of Category

Application in duplicate shall be registered in concerned CSC with following documents in duplicate. Application Form

  1. Latest electrical bill with payment receipt.
  2. LT application -3 copies.
  3. Registration fee, 25/- for domestic purpose and 50/- for commercial & general purpose.
  4. Revised agreement and test report are to be signed.
  5. Additional consumption deposit is to be paid if it attracts higher tariff.
  6. Additional development charges, if any to be paid as per rules.

An application has to be registered in the concerned section office by paying an application fee upon which the development and service line charges are to be paid separately as per rules. Development Charges:

  1. For domestic :- Rs. 1000/- per KW
  2. For non-domestic:- Rs. 2000/- per KW

Service Line Charges:

It depends upon the work involved i.e., cost will be comparable as per the extension of service lines.

Note: - The minimum load required to convert is 3 KW for domestic load and 5 KW for commercial load.

Q. What is the procedure to transfer the title for my LT connection?

The transfer of title in LT connection can be done in following steps.

Step  1: You have to download the title transfer application form respective DISCOM website or here.

Step  2: Duly fill the application form.

Step  3: Pay the charges as applicable

Step  4: Attach the necessary documents.

Step 5: If there are there are no previous dues and application in required format, then the application will be accepted.

Step 6: The change of consumer’s name shall be effected within two billing cycles after     acceptance of application.

The type of Supply for Low Tension is A.C. 50 Cycles, three phase supply at 415 Volts or single phase supply at 240 Volts.

The consumer who is having the monthly consumption Upto 50 units has to apply for the LT I (A) category and consumer having monthly consumption of more than 50 units has to apply for LT I (B) category.

Q.I need a 3 Phase connection for my house? What is the procedure for getting a new service connection?

Step 1: You have to download LT application from respective DISCOM website or here.

Step 2: You have to apply for LT I category and fill in the details correctly in the application form in customer service centre.

Step 3: You have to attach following documents:

  1. Application fees (Demand Draft of  50/- In favor of Assistant Accounts officer of the concerned Electrical Revenue Office) ERO
  2. Proof of ownership of premises of the rental or lease deed.
  3. Permission of local bodies
  4. Wiring certificates (if ready)
  5. Consent letter of owner along with the Indemnity Bond for a period of two years in case the applicant is tenant

Step 4: After the receipt of application the department conducts the feasibility study for supplying the requisite power. 

Step 5: After the inspection or feasibility study is done a report is submitted to the concerned DE by the inspection personal and recommend for release of power.

Step 6: Concerned DE will issue release order. Metering and protection department will come and release the supply.
